  • Thread Gray 14/0

Materials

  • CDC or poly yarn wing post White/light gray cdc (one clump)
  • Microfibetts (split tails) Dun microfibetts (few fibers)

  2. Run thread to the bend and split a bunch of dun Microfibetts wide with a small dubbing ball, tails one and a half shanks long. Spinners have long splayed tails.
  3. Dub a slim, tapered gray abdomen forward to the post.
  4. Tie in a dun hackle at the base of the post.
  5. Wind the hackle 4-5 turns parachute-style down around the post, barbs standing flat and out.
  6. Dub a thin thorax through the post base, figure-8ing under the hackle, then secure the hackle tip.
  7. Whip finish under the eye and cement the thread only.
