  • Hook Standard dry or curved emerger (TMC 100 / 2487), 18-22
  • Thread Olive 14/0

Materials

  • Z-lon trailing shuck Amber/brown antron or z lon (sparse tuft)
  • Goose biot BWO olive (one (abdomen))
  • CDC feathers Natural dun cdc feather (2 (wing))
  • Superfine dubbing BWO olive (thorax)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread mid-shank and run it to the bend.
  2. Tie in a sparse tuft of amber Z-lon at the bend as a trailing shuck, half a shank long, and trim square.
  3. Bind an olive biot by the tip and wind it forward in touching turns to the 60% mark for a ribbed abdomen.
  4. Stack two dun CDC feathers, measure just short of the shank, and tie them in as a low, forward-leaning emerger wing.
  5. Dub a small olive thorax over the wing butts, figure-8ing to prop the wing up.
  6. Whip finish under the eye, no cement on the CDC.
