- Hook Jig nymph, barbless, #12-16
- Thread Hot orange 8/0
Materials
- Bead Copper or silver tungsten bead (1 slotted)
- Tail Coq de Leon (few fibers)
- Body Natural hare's ear (dubbing)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
- Wing case/flash Pearl flashabou (few strands over thorax)
- Hot spot Hot orange arctic fox (thread collar)
How to tie it
- Slide a heavy slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook and mount it.
- Tie in a short Coq de Leon tail half a shank length at the bend.
- Tie in fine copper wire and a couple strands of pearl flash to be pulled over later.
- Dub a slim hare's ear body forward, leaving a slightly thicker thorax behind the bead.
- Rib forward with 5-6 turns of copper wire and tie off.
- Pull the pearl flash over the thorax as a wing case and bind it behind the bead.
- Build a hot-orange thread hot spot, whip finish, and pick out the thorax dubbing.
