  • Thread Hot orange 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Copper or silver tungsten bead (1 slotted)
  • Tail Coq de Leon (few fibers)
  • Body Natural hare's ear (dubbing)

How to tie it

  2. Tie in a short Coq de Leon tail half a shank length at the bend.
  3. Tie in fine copper wire and a couple strands of pearl flash to be pulled over later.
  4. Dub a slim hare's ear body forward, leaving a slightly thicker thorax behind the bead.
  5. Rib forward with 5-6 turns of copper wire and tie off.
  6. Pull the pearl flash over the thorax as a wing case and bind it behind the bead.
  7. Build a hot-orange thread hot spot, whip finish, and pick out the thorax dubbing.
