- Hook Standard nymph/scud, down eye, #18-22
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Bead Silver bead (1 small)
- Body Black ostrich herl (tying thread)
- Rib Silver metal tape (fine wire)
- Thorax Black ostrich herl (sparse dubbing or peacock ice dub)
How to tie it
- Slide a small silver bead to the eye and mount the hook.
- Start thread behind the bead and lay a smooth base down to the bend.
- Tie in a short length of fine silver wire at the bend.
- Build a slim, smooth thread abdomen forward to just behind the bead.
- Counter-wrap the wire forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns for a segmented rib and tie off.
- Dub a tiny sparse thorax of ice dub right behind the bead.
- Whip finish behind the bead and clip; keep the whole fly slim.
