Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Tube with trailing hook
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Tag Oval gold tinsel (short)
  • Body Black floss (full body)
  • Rib Oval silver tinsel (over body)
  • Throat hackle Bright blue throat hackle (beard)
  • Wing Natural brown bucktail or squirrel (sparse over top)

How to tie it

  1. Mount tube and lay a short oval gold tag at the rear.
  2. Tie in oval silver rib and wind a slim black floss body forward.
  3. Rib the body evenly and tie off.
  4. Tie a bright blue hackle as a throat/beard beneath.
  5. Set a sparse natural brown bucktail or squirrel wing over the top.
  6. Form a small head and whip finish.
