How to tie it
Mount the hook and run thread to the bend at the point.
Tie in and split a sparse Microfibbet tail about one shank long for a stable footprint.
Wrap a segmented biot or thin dubbing body forward to the 70% mark.
Tie in a loop of monofilament standing up as a temporary post, and tie in a hackle at its base.
Wind the hackle up and back down the mono post to stack the fibers, then capture the tip.
Pull the mono loop forward over the top so the stacked hackle folds down flat over the thorax like a parachute canopy, and bind the loop down at the eye.
Trim the mono, form a small head, and whip finish so the fly rides low with hackle splayed on the surface.
