Reference Recipe

  • Hook Saltwater streamer hook, 1/0-3/0
  • Thread Clear mono Fine mono

Materials

  • Body/wing Silver-clear material (Sili Skin or gummy body material)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (Flashabou insert)
  • Back Olive/blue material (marker or dark Sili Skin)
  • Eyes Silver metal tape (large stick-on)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and lay a thin mono-thread base along the shank.
  2. Lay a sparse strip of pearl flash along the shank for an internal shine.
  3. Peel one side of a folded gummy/Sili Skin strip and lay the shank into the sticky face, flash sandwiched inside.
  4. Peel the second side and fold it over, pressing the two faces together around the hook to form a clear baitfish body.
  5. Trim the sealed body to a broad minnow profile with a forked tail.
  6. Shade the back with a dark marker or dark skin strip and press a large stick-on eye to each side.
  7. Whip finish at the head and coat the eyes and head with UV resin to lock everything down.
