- Mount the shank and lay a thread base, then bind a mono loop along the top to carry the trailing hook, tag reaching the rear of the shank.
- Dub a hot-pink Ice Dub butt at the rear over the loop tie-down.
- Tie in a pink schlappen feather by the tip and wind two or three turns as a rear collar, adding a few strands of flash.
- Dub or wind a black body forward to the front third of the shank.
- Wind two or three turns of black schlappen for the front hackle, sweeping the fibers back.
- Add a turn of blue guinea for a mobile collar, then lash a dumbbell eye on top near the front so it rides hook-point up.
- Build a neat head, whip finish, and rig the trailing hook on the loop point-up.
