  • Hook Intruder shank with looped trailing hook, Shank 25-40mm + trailing hook 1-2
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Trailer loop Clear head cement (20-30lb mono or braid)
  • Butt Hot pink uni stretch (Ice Dub)
  • Rear hackle Pink rear hackle (schlappen + flash)
  • Body Black ostrich herl (Ice Dub or dubbing brush)
  • Front hackle Black hackle (schlappen)
  • Collar Blue macaw (guinea or mallard)
  • Eyes Nickel material (medium dumbbell)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the shank and lay a thread base, then bind a mono loop along the top to carry the trailing hook, tag reaching the rear of the shank.
  2. Dub a hot-pink Ice Dub butt at the rear over the loop tie-down.
  3. Tie in a pink schlappen feather by the tip and wind two or three turns as a rear collar, adding a few strands of flash.
  4. Dub or wind a black body forward to the front third of the shank.
  5. Wind two or three turns of black schlappen for the front hackle, sweeping the fibers back.
  6. Add a turn of blue guinea for a mobile collar, then lash a dumbbell eye on top near the front so it rides hook-point up.
  7. Build a neat head, whip finish, and rig the trailing hook on the loop point-up.
