Classic Recipe

  • Hook Heavy saltwater (Gamakatsu SL12S class), 6/0-8/0
  • Thread White GSP 400D 400D GSP

Materials

  • Tail Long saddle hackles or SF blend (6-8 feathers)
  • Body Synthetic brush (EP or bauer-style), wound (2-3 brushes)
  • Head Brushed-out fibers, trimmed to baitfish taper (dense)
  • Eyes Oversized 3D, glued & resined (1 pair)

How to tie it

  1. Tail feathers/fibers at the bend, splayed slightly
  2. Wind brushes forward in touching turns, stroking fibers back each wrap
  3. Brush everything rearward, trim a tapered baitfish head
  4. Set big eyes in resin. GTs will test them
