UV Straggle Fluorescent orange uv straggle (three or four wraps in the middle)
How to tie it
Slide a gold bead onto a scud hook and start olive thread at the rear.
Tie in olive UV Straggle and wind it up the bottom third of the hook, then tie it off and trim it out.
Take three or four wraps of fluorescent orange Straggle right in the middle of the body and trim it out. That orange band reads as the egg mass a gravid scud carries, which is the whole trigger on this fly.
Re-tie the olive Straggle in and wrap it forward to the bead.
Tie it off behind the bead and whip finish.
Preen all the fibres down underneath, then run a lighter lightly over the top to melt the fibres flat and form a shell back.
