Reference Recipe
- Hook standard dry-fly hook, 18-22
- Thread black 8/0
Materials
- Body Peacock ice dub (1-2 herls)
- Hackle Grizzly hackle (one undersized, palmered)
How to tie it
- Mount the small hook and start thread behind the eye.
- Tie in a grizzly hackle by the tip at the bend, then one or two peacock herls.
- Twist the herl into a rope and wrap a slim buggy body forward to just behind the eye.
- Palmer the grizzly hackle forward through the body in 5-6 open, evenly spaced turns.
- Tie off the hackle behind the eye and snip the excess.
- Whip finish and add a tiny drop of head cement.
