Start the Black or olive thread on the size 10 1x long hook and lay a base to the bend.
Tie in the Oval gold tinsel, small at the bend. A little step there is fine; the body is buggy anyway.
Wax the thread well and dub a long noodle of Green seal's fur, tightening it repeatedly as you wrap the body forward to the front. It will stay buggy no matter how tight you go.
Tie in a softer Brown or ginger rooster hackle at the front, take two turns there, then palmer it back to the rear in open turns.
Catch the hackle tip with the Oval gold tinsel at the rear, then rib the tinsel forward through the hackle, zigzagging to trap as few fibres as you can. Tie off, snip, and lock it in with extra wraps.
Brush the body out lightly with velcro to pull some green fuzz through and sweep the hackle fibres back.
Take matched slips from a left and right hen pheasant flight feather, lay them over each other, and set them on top reaching a little past the bend. Pinch feathers and hook together, one loose pinch wrap, a second, check they sit on top, then a few tight wraps. Snip the butts and take a few extra wraps to smooth the area.
Tie in a second Brown or ginger hackle right in front of the wings and wind several turns forward. Snip the stem.
Pinch all the hackle fibres back and take plenty of thread wraps going rearward to build a big head that holds them swept back, then whip finish.
