Straight pin n/a (One, cut with the head left on so the bead stops against it)
Angel Hair Pearl blue angel hair (About ten fibers for the tail)
Leech yarn (mohair) Olive/green leech yarn (One strand for the body)
Sparkle dubbing Light olive sparkle dubbing (A thin pinch for the thorax)
How to tie it
Cut a straight pin, leaving the head on, and slide the 1/8 inch gold bead onto it so the head of the pin stops the bead. Mount a size 10 jig hook in the vise.
Lay the pin along the top of the shank with the bead extending about half an inch past the hook eye and lash it down firmly with olive thread so the extension is rigid.
Tie in a very small clump of pearl blue Angel Hair at the rear, only about ten fibers, and break/cut it off unevenly so it extends roughly half an inch to an inch beyond the bend as a subtle attractor.
Tie in a strand of olive leech yarn (mohair) at the rear of the hook and wrap the thread forward to the bead.
Wrap the mohair forward to form a full body and tie it off behind the bead.
Spin a thin amount of light olive sparkle dubbing on the thread and wrap a short thorax right behind the gold bead as a color accent.
Whip finish behind the bead.
Brush the whole body out hard with a dubbing brush, picking the mohair fibers as long as you can get them so the fly has a full, leggy leech profile.
