- Hook standard dry-fly hook, 10-12
- Thread olive 8/0
Materials
- Wings White calf (clump, upright and divided)
- Tail Moose (stacked bunch)
- Body Olive-green material (dubbing)
- Hackle Grizzly and brown hackle (two, mixed)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and run thread to the 70% mark.
- Tie in a clump of white calf hair standing upright at the 70% mark and split it into two wings with figure-8 wraps.
- Stack a bunch of moose fibers and bind them at the bend for a tail one shank length long.
- Dub a tapered olive-green body forward to the wing base.
- Tie in one grizzly and one brown hackle at the wing base.
- Wind both hackles together, a few turns behind and a few in front of the wings, and tie off.
- Whip finish behind the eye and cement.
