- Hook standard wet-fly hook, 10-12
- Thread olive 8/0
Materials
- Tail Brown partridge (small bunch of fibers)
- Body Olive-green material (dubbing or floss)
- Rib Gold middle (fine wire)
- Hackle Brown partridge (one, soft collar)
- Wing Gray mallard (matched slips or bunch)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and lay a thread base to the bend.
- Tie in a short partridge-fiber tail and bind in the gold wire rib.
- Dub a slim olive-green body forward to the 75% mark and rib it with 5 open turns.
- Wind a soft brown-partridge hackle collar of 2 turns and sweep the fibers back and down.
- Set a gray mallard wing low over the body, tips reaching the bend.
- Form a small head, whip finish, and cement.
