Materials
Bead (3mm tungsten)
Tail Pardo (Coq de Leon barbs)
Body Green (A12) material (Diamond Body Thread)
Hot spot Hot orange arctic fox (thread)
Coating Clear head cement (ultra-thin UV resin)
How to tie it
Bead the size 18 STS 820 with a 3mm tungsten and start Sumo 50 denier thread behind it.
Tie in a short, sparse Coq de Leon pardo tail at the bend. On a micro nymph three or four barbs is plenty.
Wrap the A12 green Diamond Body Thread forward in tight touching turns to just behind the bead. The material is sparkly enough to get noticed but sits in the brown-green range that matches an algae-heavy riverbed.
Build a small hot orange thread collar behind the bead and whip finish.
Coat the body in ultra-thin UV resin and cure. Ultra-thin is the right choice on a size 18, anything heavier doubles the diameter of the fly.
Fish it in fast water, or cast to visible fish in the French nymphe a vue style.
