Classic Recipe

  • Hook 6x streamer, 4-8
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Body Orange floss (smooth)
  • Rib Silver tinsel (spiral)
  • Throat White bucktail + golden crest (sparse)
  • Wing Green saddles over white bucktail (4)
  • Shoulder Silver pheasant (optional)
  • Cheeks Jungle cock (1 pair)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the long streamer hook and run black thread to the bend.
  2. Catch in silver tinsel rib, then wrap orange floss forward into a smooth body to behind the eye and tie off.
  3. Spiral the silver rib forward in 5 even turns and secure.
  4. Turn the hook and tie in a throat of sparse white bucktail with a golden pheasant crest under it.
  5. Stack white bucktail on top, then set four green saddle hackles over it as a slim wing extending to the tail area.
  6. Optionally add a silver pheasant shoulder each side, then tie a jungle cock eye as a cheek per side.
  7. Build a neat head, whip finish and lacquer glossy.
