Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Jig hook, 12-16
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Gold bead (1, sized to hook)
  • Coq de Leon fibres Natural coq de leon fibers (small bunch (tail))
  • Peacock herl Natural peacock herl (2-3 strands (body))
  • UV ice dub Green soft wire (hot collar)
  • UV ice dub Purple ice dub (hot collar)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a gold slotted tungsten bead onto a jig hook and mount in the vise.
  2. Start the thread behind the bead and run it to the bend.
  3. Tie in a short tail of coq de leon fibres about half a shank long.
  4. Tie in and wind peacock herl to form the body up to the bead; secure.
  5. Dub a bright green then purple hot collar of UV ice dub tight behind the bead.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead.
