Reference Recipe
- Hook Heavy-wire streamer hook, 2-6
- Thread Grey or white 140-210 denier
Materials
- Tail Grey over white (2 craft-fur clumps)
- Flash Pearl/holographic flash (few strands)
- Body Grey and white material (stacked craft-fur collars)
- Head Grey over white (craft fur spun in a dubbing loop)
- Eyes Yellow/red 3D eyes (1 pair, glued (optional))
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and lay a thread base over the rear third.
- Tie in a white craft-fur belly clump and a grey top clump for a baitfish tail about one and a half shank lengths long.
- Add a few strands of pearl flash the length of the tail.
- Work forward stacking reversed craft-fur collars, white on the belly and grey on top, packing each back to build a slim baitfish body.
- Spin a final craft-fur head in a dubbing loop and flare it, keeping the belly light and the back darker.
- Sweep all fibers back, whip finish, and trim the head to a tapered water-pushing shape.
- Glue on 3D eyes and seal the thread head.
