Classic Recipe

  • Hook 6x streamer, 4-8
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Tail Golden pheasant crest (small)
  • Body Flat silver tinsel (smooth)
  • Throat White bucktail (sparse)
  • Wing Purple saddles over white bucktail (4 feathers)
  • Cheeks Jungle cock (1 pair)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the long streamer hook and run black thread to the bend.
  2. Tie in a small golden pheasant crest as a tail, curving up.
  3. Catch in flat silver tinsel and wrap a smooth body forward to just behind the eye, then back and forward for a flawless sheen and tie off.
  4. Turn the hook and tie in a sparse white bucktail throat under the shank.
  5. Stack white bucktail on top, then set four purple saddle hackles over it as a slim wing extending to the tail tip.
  6. Tie a jungle cock eye feather over each side as a cheek, then build a neat head.
  7. Whip finish and lacquer the head glossy.
