Shrimp · Bonefish · Permit · Intermediate · 1 version
Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard saltwater flats hook, 2-6
- Thread Pink 140 denier
Materials
- Eyes Silver/painted material (1 pair lead dumbbell)
- Tail Pearl anti static bag strip (1 small clump pearl flash)
- Body Pearl anti static bag strip (1 strand pearl Diamond Braid)
- Wing Tan/amber material (1 sparse clump craft fur)
- Head Pink ears (thread)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and lash the lead dumbbell eyes on top one-third back from the hook eye so it rides point-up.
- Tie in a short pearl flash tail at the bend, half a shank long.
- Tie in the pearl braid, wrap it forward to the eyes, figure-8 around them, and tie off in front.
- Invert the hook and tie a sparse tan craft-fur wing in front of the eyes, laid back over the body past the bend.
- Keep the profile slim and translucent.
- Build a pink thread head, whip finish, and cement.
- Check the wing sits above the point.
