Reference Recipe

• Hook Short-shank dry/terrestrial hook, 8-12
• Thread Black 6/0 (140 denier)

Materials

• Body Black foam (2mm strip, layered)
• Underbody/Flash Orange holographic tinsel (1 pinch dubbing or belly foam)
• Wing Dark dun / white material (1 poly-yarn clump)
• Legs Barred black/orange rubber legs (2 pairs round rubber)
• Indicator Orange permanent marker (1 foam tab on head)

How to tie it

1. Mount the hook and lay a thread base along the shank.
2. Tie the black foam strip in at the bend with a short rear tab, then add a thin orange belly to suggest the underside.
3. Pull the foam forward and bind at the 55% mark to segment the body, leaving foam for the head.
4. Tie in a dun poly wing flat over the body, reaching just past the bend.
5. Figure-8 two pairs of barred rubber legs off both sides at the segment tie-down.
6. Fold the front foam over to build a broad bullet head, bind at the eye, and top it with a bright orange sighter tab.
7. Whip finish under the head and trim the legs to about one shank length.
