Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Dry fly, #10-14
  • Thread Yellow 8/0

Materials

  • Wing White uni stretch (Calf tail, upright and divided)
  • Tail Brown permanent marker (Bucktail or moose fibers)
  • Body Gold/yellow material (Floss)
  • Hackle Brown hackle (2 feathers)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread one-third back from the eye.
  2. Tie in a white calf tail wing, divide into two, and post upright.
  3. Tie in a brown bucktail tail extending about one hook length past the bend.
  4. Wrap a yellow/gold floss body from the tail base up to the wing.
  5. Tie in and wrap brown hackle behind and in front of the wings, then tie off.
  6. Whip finish behind the eye.
