Start the Black thread on the Alec Jackson hook and carry it back to a point directly above the hook point.
Tie in the ribbing tinsel there and wrap a short tag rearward, a few close turns, to whatever looks right.
Tie in a Golden Pheasant Crest tail at the front edge of the tag. If it splays, leave it; it pulls together once wet. Just make sure it is bound in well.
Tie in the Small Purple Chenille and wrap it forward in touching turns, each wrap right in front of the last, into a neat compact body. Tie off.
Wrap the rib forward with light pressure so it beds down into the chenille rather than sitting on top, then tie it off.
Tie in the Purple saddle hackle by the butt, fold the fibres back, and wind the collar. If some barbs splay forward, wrap over them and fold them back. Snip the stem.
Pull an undyed Golden Pheasant breast feather (the mottling shows once wet) and set it on top as the wing with two or three wraps, pulling it down into position. It shrinks noticeably when wet, so size it a touch generous.
Pull the stem back through the wraps, fold it over, and bind the head down over the folded stem so the wing can never pull out.
Build a small round head, whip finish, and add head cement.
