Glue Egg-Beadhead

Reference Recipe

  • Hook 1XS-1XL egg/scud hook, 8-14
  • Thread Fluorescent orange or pink 6/0

Materials

  • Bead Gold or orange tungsten bead (1, sized to hook)
  • Egg body Orange/peach UV resin or Otter's Soft Milking egg (round bead of glue)
  • Hot spot Red UV resin dot (optional) (small dab)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the tungsten bead to the eye, mount the hook, and start thread behind the bead.
  2. Build a small ball of thread wraps at the middle of the shank to give the glue something to grip.
  3. Apply a rounded blob of colored UV resin over the thread ball, rotating the hook so it settles into an even egg shape.
  4. Touch a tiny dot of red resin on one side for a blood spot if desired.
  5. Cure the resin fully with a UV light so the egg is glassy and hard.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead and clear the eye.
