Mount the hook and start waxed tying thread about one eye-length behind the eye; wind smooth touching turns down the shank to the bend.
Tie in the ribbing (Gold) at the bend and let it hang for later.
Tie in the body material (Pale Green) at the bend, return the thread to the two-thirds point, and wind the body forward in touching turns to form a slim, slightly tapered body; tie off.
Counter-wrap the rib forward in four or five evenly spaced open turns over the body; tie off and trim or helicopter the end.
Prepare a Dun hackle by stripping the soft web from the base; tie it in at the front of the body shiny-side forward and wind four or five close turns; tie off and trim the tip.
Build a small, neat thread head to cover the wing and hackle butts, whip finish, and lacquer the head.
