Classic Recipe

• Hook Standard wet fly, 10-14
• Thread Black 8/0

Materials

• Tag Flat gold tinsel (2 turns)
• Tail Red hackle fibers (short)
• Body Peacock herl (3 strands)
• Hackle Ginger hen hackle (1)

How to tie it

1. Wrap a short gold tag at the bend and tie in the red tail.
2. Twist the peacock herls with the thread and wrap a full body to the 80% mark.
3. Wind 2-3 turns of soft ginger hen hackle and sweep the fibers back.
4. Whip finish a small head.
