Body Brown/black variegated chenille (Crystal or medium) (full shank)
Legs Brown/black barred round rubber (3 pairs plus tails and antennae)
How to tie it
Slide the tungsten bead to the eye, mount the hook, and wrap 12-15 turns of heavy lead-free wire down the shank so this stonefly gets it down deep; start thread and bind the wire.
At the bend, tie in a splayed pair of rubber-leg tails, each about half a shank long, angled into a V.
Bind in the variegated chenille at the bend, then wrap thread forward creating segment gaps for the legs.
Palmer the chenille forward, pausing to figure-8 in a pair of rubber legs at the one-third and two-thirds points, then a final pair just behind the bead.
Tie off the chenille behind the bead and add two forward-pointing antennae the length of the tails.
Whip finish against the bead and trim all legs so they splay evenly, then snip.
