Tyer Recipe

  • Hook 2-3XL nymph/streamer hook, 8-12
  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Marabou tail Olive marabou (small tuft)
  • Dubbing body Olive ice dub (as needed)
  • Wire rib Copper wire (1 length)
  • Wingcase Olive/mottled wing slip (1 slip)
  • Bead-chain or mono eyes Black mono eyes small (1 pair)
  • Partridge legs Natural partridge (1 turn)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and wrap to above the barb.
  2. Tie in a short mobile olive marabou tail about half a shank long.
  3. Tie in the wire rib, then dub a slim tapered abdomen two-thirds up the shank.
  4. Rib the wire forward over the abdomen and tie off.
  5. Tie in a wingcase slip, then mount small eyes at the front.
  6. Dub a thorax, pull the wingcase over the top and secure behind the eyes.
  7. Add a turn of soft partridge as legs, build a head and whip finish.
