Classic Recipe
- Hook Salmon single or tube, 2-8 or tube
- Thread Black 6/0
Materials
- Tail Golden pheasant crest (small)
- Body Black floss (slim)
- Rib Oval silver (spiral)
- Wing Yellow hair over red hair (full)
- Throat Blue guinea (sparse)
How to tie it
- Mount the tube or salmon hook and start black thread at the rear.
- Tie in a small golden pheasant crest tail curving up, then catch in oval silver rib.
- Wrap black floss forward into a slim body to the front and tie off.
- Spiral the silver rib forward in 5 even open turns and secure.
- Tie in a full wing of red hair first, then yellow hair over it, streaming back past the bend.
- Tie in a sparse blue guinea throat under the front.
- Build a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
