Materials
- Weight Lead (Few wraps (optional))
- Shellback Clear scud back thin skin (Strip of plastic bag / scud back)
- Rib Gold middle (Fine wire)
- Body Tan or olive d rib larva lace (Antron/possum scud dubbing, shaggy)
How to tie it
- Mount the curved hook, start the thread and add a few optional lead wraps along the shank for weight.
- At the bend, tie in a clear plastic strip for the shellback and a length of fine wire for the rib.
- Dub a plump, shaggy body forward to the eye and pick it out on the underside for legs.
- Pull the plastic shellback flat over the top and bind it at the eye.
- Counter-wrap the wire rib forward in 5-6 turns to segment the back and lock it down, then helicopter off the tag.
- Pick out the belly dubbing, trim the shellback tag and whip finish.
