Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Advanced · 1 version
Classic Recipe
- Hook Daiichi 2460 streamer hooks, #4 (front), #6 (rear), articulated
- Thread match body (olive, white, black, yellow) GSP 100 (to spin deer hair)
Materials
- Rear tail Marabou (1-2 plumes, shank length)
- Flash Flashabou (few strands each side)
- Rear body Ice Dub (dubbed)
- Rear hackle Schlappen or saddle (1-2)
- Connection Surflon / articulation wire (1 loop)
- Front body Ice Dub (dubbed)
- Front hackle Schlappen (1-2 palmered)
- Legs Barred rubber / Crazy Legs (2 per side)
- Eyes Small double-pupil lead eyes (1 pair)
- Head Deer belly hair (spun and trimmed flat)
How to tie it
- REAR HOOK: tie in a shank-length marabou tail with a few strands of flash, dub a short Ice Dub body, palmer a schlappen collar, and whip finish.
- FRONT HOOK: connect the rear with articulation wire and lash it down for a free hinge.
- Dub the front body, palmer a schlappen collar, and splay two rubber legs per side.
- Lash small double-pupil lead eyes on top so the fly rides hook-up and jigs.
- Spin and pack clumps of deer belly hair into a head.
- Whip finish and trim the head flat on the bottom and blocky on top so it wobbles.
- It's a scaled Sex Dungeon, so keep the same flat-headed wedge shape that makes the original hunt.
