How to tie it
On the rear hook, lay a thread base and tie in a white marabou tail about one shank-length long, then a few strands of pearl flash over it.
Tie in a length of pearl cactus chenille at the tail base, wrap it forward to just behind the eye to form the rear body, and tie off.
Lay a magnum rabbit strip over the top of the rear body, tie it down behind the eye so it forms an overtail, and add a palmered grizzly hackle if desired. Whip and cement the rear hook.
Join the rear hook to the front hook with wire and bead spacers, then start thread on the front hook.
Tie in the dumbbell eyes on top near the hook eye (fly rides hook-point up) with figure-eight wraps and a drop of glue.
At the joint, tie in pearl cactus chenille and a rabbit strip; wrap the chenille forward to build the front body and secure the rabbit strip on top as a wing extending back over the rear hook.
Tie in two pairs of rubber legs along the sides with figure-eight wraps, splaying them out.
Build a wool or dubbed head behind the eyes, or spin a small deer-hair collar, and pack it tight.
Whip finish behind the hook eye, trim any wool head to a broad sculpin shape, and cement.
