Nymph · Largemouth Bass · Smallmouth Bass · Pike · Striped Bass · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Long-shank streamer hook, 4-8
  • Thread White 6/0

Materials

  • Belly White uni stretch (Sparse clump of Fuzzabou)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (Few strands Flashabou)
  • Back Gray flotation (Sparse clump of Fuzzabou)
  • Eyes Silver metal tape (Pair of stick-on eyes)
  • Throat Red buzzer wrap (Few fibers (optional gill))

How to tie it

  1. Mount the streamer hook, start the thread at the rear and advance to just behind the eye.
  2. Tie in a sparse clump of white Fuzzabou as the belly, extending about 1.5 shank lengths past the bend.
  3. Lay a few strands of pearl Flashabou over the belly for a baitfish shimmer.
  4. Tie a clump of gray Fuzzabou on top as the back, matching the belly length, to give the shad its dark topline.
  5. Add a small red throat at the head for gills, then build a smooth tapered thread head.
  6. Set a stick-on eye on each side, coat the head with UV resin and cure, then whip finish.
