Crystal / sparkle chenille Black, coffee brown or peacock (1 length)
Round rubber legs Barred / white rubber legs (3 pairs plus tail and antennae pairs)
How to tie it
Mount the heavy hook and, if weighting, wrap lead-free wire over the middle third of the shank; start the thread and lock the wraps.
At the bend tie in a splayed tail made of two rubber-leg butts pointing rearward, one shank-length long.
Tie in the crystal/sparkle chenille at the bend.
Wrap the chenille forward a few turns, then bind in a pair of rubber legs at the mid-point sticking out to the sides.
Continue wrapping the chenille forward, adding a second pair of legs two-thirds of the way up, and a front pair just behind the eye, splaying each pair with figure-eight thread turns.
Wrap the chenille to just behind the eye, tie off, and trim.
Tie in a short pair of rubber antennae angled forward over the eye, whip finish, and cement the head. Trim all legs to roughly one shank-length.
