Eyes Painted dumbbell/lead eyes sized to hook (1 pair)
Belly White bucktail (small clump)
Flash Gold or pearl Krystal Flash (4-6 strands)
Wing Chartreuse bucktail (small clump)
How to tie it
Lay a thread base and tie the dumbbell eyes on top of the shank about one-third back from the eye with tight figure-eight wraps.
Invert the hook. Tie a clump of white bucktail in front of the eyes as the belly, measuring it about 2.5-3 hook lengths long, then cross behind and in front of the eyes to lock it.
Add 4-6 strands of flash the same length as the bucktail.
Tie a clump of chartreuse bucktail just behind the eye as the wing/back, matching the belly length. Because the eyes ride point-up, the fly jigs and won't snag bottom.
Build a smooth tapered head, whip finish, and cement.
Trim any stray fibers so belly and wing taper cleanly to a point.
