- Hook Jig or standard nymph, tungsten bead, #12-#18
- Thread Fluorescent pink 8/0
Materials
- Bead Gold tungsten bead (slotted, sized to gap)
- Tail Coq de Leon (few fibers)
- Body Pheasant tail (fibers)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
- Thorax/Hot Spot UV pink material (Ice Dub)
- Collar Brown partridge (1 feather)
How to tie it
- Slide the tungsten bead to the eye and mount the hook, starting thread behind the bead.
- Tie in a short Coq de Leon tail at the bend, about a third of a shank long.
- Bind in fine copper wire and pheasant tail, then wrap the abdomen forward to the 65% mark.
- Counter-rib the copper wire in 4-5 turns and tie off.
- Dub a bright pink hot-spot thorax, leaving room behind the bead for the collar.
- Wrap a soft partridge collar in 1-2 turns behind the bead and sweep the fibers rearward for movement.
- Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of cement.
