Tie the white Uni-Stretch gills in with the bead pushed back, trim, whip finish, then slide the silver bead up over the tie-in and reattach the red thread.
Build a slight taper and bind silver ultra wire down the full length of the shank so the body profile stays even.
At the rear, tie in four or five pheasant tail fibers and wind them forward to the bead as the body, then tie off and trim. And tidy the gills while you have the scissors out.
Counter-rib forward with the silver wire and tie it off. Counter-wrapping is essential over pheasant tail, which shreds fast without it.
Helicopter the wire away and dub a short collar of shrimp pink UV Ice Dub behind the bead. That pink band is the Frenchie signature borrowed onto a chironomid.
Whip finish a red hot spot in front of the collar.
