Reference Recipe

  • Hook Long-shank lure/wet hook (B175 or Mustad R90), 8
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Lead wire n/a (A few turns at the front)
  • Rabbit strip Lime green rabbit strip (1 short piece (tail))
  • Lite-Brite dubbing Lime green dubbing or antron (1 rope (body))
  • Rabbit (Zonker) strips White rabbit zonker strip (2 (sides/wings))

How to tie it

  1. Lash a length of lead wire at the front of the shank and push it back to leave working room behind the eye, then wrap the thread over it.
  2. At the bend, tie in a short lime-green rabbit-strip tail, stripping the fluff so it lashes down slim.
  3. Dub a tight rope of lime-green Lite-Brite and wrap the body forward, stopping short of the head to leave room for the wings.
  4. Tie in two equal white rabbit (Zonker) strips, one on each side of the shank so they sit sideways rather than on top.
  5. Build a neat head, whip finish and coat the head generously with varnish.
