Slide the Silver 2.8 mm bead to the eye and take about five wraps of 0.015" weight behind it, jammed up into the bead.
Start the Red thread behind the bead and run it down around the bend of the scud hook.
Cut the Body stretch in half lengthwise and cut a V on the end. Tie it in on top at the bend, fold it forward to check the body length, then take about three more wraps farther back and bury the tag.
Tie in a length of Clear monofilament as the rib.
Take the thread back, wax it, and dub a fairly tight noodle of Rainbow sow scud dubbing. Dub forward, slightly thicker in the middle, in two applications, stopping a millimeter short of the bead.
Pull the Body stretch over the top, take a couple of loose wraps and adjust so it comes straight off the top, then three tight wraps. Stretch it taut, cut, and add another tight wrap.
Rib the Clear monofilament forward in four or five turns, pulling for segmentation. Take a wrap in front of it and two behind before cutting; mono slips where wire would hold.
Pull the shellback stub back and build a fairly thick red hot spot behind the bead. Touch a dab of super glue to the thread and take about three wraps so it sinks in, then whip finish and trim.
Pluck or trim any long fibers, leaving fuzz along the bottom and sides for legs.
