Reference Recipe

  • Hook Gold-painted minnow jig head, 1/16 oz jig
  • Thread Black UTC 70 denier

Materials

  • Marabou Yellow marabou (1 feather (tail))
  • Tinsel chenille (cactus) Purple chenille (1 length (body))

How to tie it

  1. Start the black thread behind the painted jig head and wrap down to the hook point.
  2. Tie in a single yellow marabou feather for the tail, about one hook length long, with tight wraps so it cannot spin, then trim the butt.
  3. Tie in a length of purple tinsel chenille at the tail, binding the tag up to the head.
  4. Wrap the chenille forward in tight, touching turns to the head, twisting it slightly so the fibers stand up, then tie it off with two or three tight wraps.
  5. Whip finish behind the head and trim.
