  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Underbody Golden material (fine dubbing)
  • Body Golden tan material (2mm foam strip)
  • Legs Barred brown rubber legs (round rubber, 3 pairs)
  • Wing White uni stretch (poly yarn or elk hair)
  • Indicator Orange permanent marker (2mm foam tab)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and lay a thread base from eye to barb.
  2. Cut a foam strip a gap-and-a-half wide, tie it in at the barb, and dub a thin golden underbody forward to the 60% mark.
  3. Pull the foam over the top to form a segmented back, binding it down with two thread cinches to shape a distinct abdomen and thorax.
  4. Figure-8 a pair of rubber legs at the waist and a pair at the thorax, splayed to the sides.
  5. Tie a low white poly wing over the back reaching to the bend, then post a short orange foam indicator tab at the eye for visibility.
  6. Whip finish under the foam tab and trim the leg tips even.
