How to tie it

  1. Mount the curved hook and lay a thread base around the bend.
  2. Tie in a short amber Z-lon shuck, about half a shank long.
  3. Dub or thread a slim olive abdomen forward to the 60% mark.
  4. Stand a small hi-vis foam post upright at the 60% mark and anchor it with cross-wraps.
  5. Wind a blue-dun parachute hackle around the post base in 3-4 turns.
  6. Dub a small olive-gray thorax around the post, secure the hackle, and whip finish behind the eye.
  7. Trim the foam post to a short, visible nub that floats the thorax in the film.
