Streamer · Largemouth Bass · Smallmouth Bass · Panfish · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Wide-gap streamer/bass hook, 2-6
  • Thread White 6/0 or 210 denier flat

Materials

  • Tail White + gray material (craft fur or bucktail with a few strands flash)
  • Belly/gut White uni stretch (2mm foam strip, folded to sit low in film)
  • Body Pearl anti static bag strip (mylar or ice dub over foam)
  • Back Gray/olive top (marker or dubbing over top)
  • Eyes Yellow/black material (stick-on or painted, optional)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and lay a thread base along the shank.
  2. Tie in a craft-fur or bucktail tail about one shank long with a few strands of pearl flash.
  3. Bind a white foam strip along the underside/belly to keep the fly floating flush in the surface film.
  4. Wrap a pearl mylar or ice-dub body over the shank to add shine.
  5. Fold the foam forward to shape a broad minnow head and bind behind the eye.
  6. Darken the back with a gray/olive marker and add optional stick-on eyes.
  7. Whip finish, whip a smooth head, and cement.
