How to tie it
Cover the shank with a tan thread base back to the bend so everything has a grip.
Lash the silver-plated lead eyes at the middle of the shank with tight figure-eight and cross wraps so they cannot rotate, then wrap back to the bend.
Slide a short piece of flexo tubing over the hook and bind it down at the bend with a few tight wraps; whip finish and cut the thread.
Compress the tubing forward to form a rounded crab body, restart the thread behind the eye, capture the front of the tubing with tight wraps, whip finish and trim the excess.
Melt the tubing ends around the shank front and back with a cautery tool so it locks to the hook like glue.
Using a bobbin threader, pull standard chenille through the body to form two pairs of legs, spacing the pairs along the body, then trim to length.
Lock each leg set with a drop of gel superglue and singe the tips with a lighter to a taper.
Form knotted-chenille claws, trim and singe the tips, tie them in and finish the head with a whip finish.
