Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook 60-degree jig streamer hook, #4-#8
  • Thread White 6/0

Materials

  • Bead Slotted silver tungsten (1, sized to gap)
  • Tail/flash Pearl flashabou (8-10 strands Flashabou)
  • Body Pearl anti static bag strip (Mylar tinsel or minnow braid)
  • Wing Olive over white (sparse bucktail or craft fur)
  • Head White uni stretch (thread, optional stick-on eyes)

How to tie it

  1. Seat the slotted tungsten bead against the eye and start thread behind it down to the bend.
  2. Tie in 8-10 strands of pearl Flashabou for a flashtail one shank length long.
  3. Bind pearl Mylar at the tail and wrap it forward in touching turns to just behind the bead for a bright minnow body.
  4. Stack a sparse white bucktail underwing, then an olive overwing on top, each reaching just past the hook bend.
  5. Add 3-4 strands of Flashabou down each side as lateral flash.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead; if using eyes, glue a stick-on to each side of the bead face.
