Materials
Eyes Silver/lead dumbbell (1 pair, sized to hook)
Flashtail Pearl flashabou (10-12 strands Flashabou)
Belly (lower wing) White uni stretch (small clump bucktail)
Flash Pearl flashabou (6-8 strands Krystal Flash)
Wing (upper) Chartreuse arctic fox (small clump bucktail)
How to tie it
Mount the hook and lash the dumbbell eyes on top of the shank one-third back from the eye with tight figure-8 wraps, then jam-lock with a few turns beneath.
At the bend tie in a tail of Flashabou a full shank length long so it trails behind the hook; this is the flashtail that sets this Clouser apart.
Rotate or flip the hook eyes-up and tie a sparse clump of white bucktail just behind the eye, then wrap in front of and behind the dumbbell so it sweeps back under the shank.
Lay 6-8 strands of Krystal Flash over the white as a middle flash layer.
Turn the hook point-down and tie a chartreuse bucktail wing over the top, keeping it half as thick as instinct suggests so it stays slim.
Build a small tapered head, whip finish, and add a drop of cement.
