  • Hook Curved emerger/scud hook, 16-20
  • Thread Olive/gray 8/0 (70 denier)

Materials

  • Shuck Brown Antron/Z-lon (small tuft)
  • Abdomen Pheasant tail fibers or dubbing (slim)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the curved hook and start thread.
  2. Tie in a sparse tuft of brown Antron off the bend for a trailing shuck, half a shank long.
  3. Wrap or dub a slim abdomen to the 65% mark and catch in a strand of pearl flash for the flashback.
  4. Dub a fuller dark thorax to the eye.
  5. Pull the flash over the thorax as a flashback and bind behind the eye.
  6. Optionally tie a short CDC puff over the thorax for the emerging wing, then whip finish.
