Reference Recipe
- Hook Curved emerger/scud hook, 16-20
- Thread Olive/gray 8/0 (70 denier)
Materials
- Shuck Brown Antron/Z-lon (small tuft)
- Abdomen Pheasant tail fibers or dubbing (slim)
- Flashback Pearl tinsel (1 strand)
- Thorax Dark dubbing or peacock (small pinch)
- Wing CDC (optional) (short puff)
How to tie it
- Mount the curved hook and start thread.
- Tie in a sparse tuft of brown Antron off the bend for a trailing shuck, half a shank long.
- Wrap or dub a slim abdomen to the 65% mark and catch in a strand of pearl flash for the flashback.
- Dub a fuller dark thorax to the eye.
- Pull the flash over the thorax as a flashback and bind behind the eye.
- Optionally tie a short CDC puff over the thorax for the emerging wing, then whip finish.
