Flashback Caddis

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Curved caddis nymph hook, 12-16
  • Thread Tan/olive 8/0 (70 denier)

Materials

  • Bead Gold tungsten (optional) bead (sized to hook)
  • Abdomen Caddis-green dubbing (slim)
  • Rib Fine gold wire (1 strand)
  • Flashback Pearl tinsel (1 strip)
  • Thorax Dark brown dubbing or peacock (small pinch)
  • Legs Brown partridge (optional) (2 turns)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a gold bead to the eye (optional), mount the hook, and start thread.
  2. Tie in gold wire at the bend for the rib.
  3. Dub a slim caddis-green abdomen forward to the 65% mark.
  4. Rib the wire forward in 5-6 turns and tie off.
  5. Tie in a strip of pearl flash, then dub a dark thorax collar behind the bead.
  6. Pull the flash over as a wingcase and bind behind the bead, adding 2 turns of partridge for legs if desired. Whip finish.
