Flash San Juan Worm
Nymph · Trout · Intermediate · 2 versions
Reference Recipe
- Hook Curved scud/nymph hook, 10-16
- Thread Red 8/0 (70 denier)
Materials
- Body Red or pink Ultra Chenille (vernille) (1 length)
- Flash Pearl or red Krystal Flash (1-2 strands)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start thread at the middle of the shank.
- Lay a thread base and bind a length of red Ultra Chenille along the top so equal tags hang off each end.
- Bind a strand or two of pearl flash alongside the chenille so it runs the length of the worm.
- Wrap the thread to lock everything down, keeping the body slim.
- Whip finish in the middle and add a drop of cement.
- Singe both chenille ends to a taper with a lighter so they wiggle.
